With thyroid cancer, your tomorrow is still bright and beautiful.

Today, a friend whose family member has thyroid cancer called to consult about post-operative thyroid cancer. His voice revealed a sense of loneliness and helplessness, as if his family member had thyroid cancer and his and her life would lose independence, dignity, and even tomorrow. The current high incidence about thyroid cancer lies mainly in health checkups. It is rare to see patients with huge thyroid tumors in the neck in surgical clinics. A large number of malignant thyroid tumors without clinical symptoms are detected by thyroid ultrasound, and soon our surgeons do the surgery. Because of our medical model of telling the patient’s client of the condition in many cases and the patient himself in some cases, this leaves both the patient and the family in a great psychological fear of facing cancer treatment. Most people are aware that facing cancer medicine seems to be more than enough. In fact, after thyroid cancer surgery, most patients have a good prognosis after receiving levothyroxine treatment to suppress tumor recurrence and metastasis, and some patients receive iodine 131 treatment, and most patients have a good prognosis after standard treatment and follow-up. Patients and their families are very worried and fearful about recurrence and metastasis, in fact, it is not necessary. Most patients have a good prognosis and low mortality rate. Moreover, follow-up is effective in detecting recurrence that can be treated by surgery again. The postoperative treatment of thyroid cancer is relatively simple. Suppression of TSH levels with levothyroxine is strongly associated with recurrence and metastasis of thyroid cancer, and this association is even stronger for high-risk factors. Regular postoperative follow-up and oral levothyroxine are the best treatment for thyroid cancer patients, just like long-term medication for hypertension, treating oncological diseases as chronic diseases. The pleasure of living and the calmness of facing death will be the sign of a successful life. Thyroid cancer is just a joke from God, or a small bump in your life. Thyroid cancer is different from liver cancer, pancreatic cancer and stomach cancer, and its prognosis should be described as very good. Today, six months later, next year, 5-10 years later, or perhaps in your old age, you will be able to laugh at the disease, work actively, enjoy the happiness of life better, and face life more openly. Overcome the anxiety, overcome the feeling of helplessness, overcome the loneliness. With thyroid cancer, all your bad emotions can be compared to a proverb: “Life is not a hundred years old, always worry about a thousand years”. Try to live the present moment well, learn to face it frankly and treat it actively. The so-called attitude of living to death may be a little false to ask every person, but next year today you are healthy and have no obvious influence on your life, you must not have this anxiety and this confusion. With thyroid cancer, standardized treatment and follow-up, your life will still be bright and beautiful, and your tomorrow will still be beautiful and flawless.
