Difference between wind-heat cough and lung-heat cough

Both wind-heat cough and lung-heat cough are terms used in Chinese medicine, and tend to be milder for wind-heat cough and more severe for lung-heat cough. When a wind-heat cough occurs, cold symptoms tend to be severe, mainly manifesting as a cough without phlegm or with a small amount of yellow phlegm that is sticky and not very easy to cough up, accompanied by a dry and painful throat, and also accompanied by severe thirst. If a lung-heat cough occurs, it is mainly characterized by repeated coughing and yellow sputum, the amount of yellow sputum is relatively large, and is accompanied by dry mouth, sore throat, constipation, red urine or fever, as well as wheezing, which is often more serious. A cough with lung fever is associated with bronchitis or pneumonia, and it is best to be hospitalized for treatment; otherwise, serious complications can easily occur.
