Superficial atrophic gastritis is relatively serious and must be treated actively and early. If left untreated, it is prone to malignant transformation, which turns into gastric cancer. The main treatment for superficial atrophic gastritis is a combination of medication and regular dietary therapy. There are three major types of drugs in common use: first, antibiotic drugs, commonly used are levofloxacin and amoxicillin. The second category, the drugs to stop acidity, commonly used are ranitidine and omeprazole. The third category, drugs that protect the gastric mucosa, is represented by bismuth salicylate. Combined treatment with these three types of drugs, together with regular dietary treatment, can achieve better treatment results.
