Treatment Strategies for Heart Failure

Heart failure can be something that everyone has heard of. As we all know, the role of the heart is to pump arterial blood rich in oxygen and nutrients throughout the body for the metabolic needs of our organism. So what does heart failure or cardiac insufficiency mean? In layman’s terms, it means that our heart is not pumping enough blood efficiently for the whole body. This is the final result of almost all heart diseases. So how do we go about treating it? Over the years I have met many patients with heart failure or even acute left heart failure. All of them are very dangerous and can be said to pull the patient back from the edge of death. So there are several points that I mainly emphasize here. Our heart is a bit like our leather band, to a certain extent, the longer it is pulled, the greater the strength. But if it goes too far, it breaks. The same goes for the heart. No matter what kind of heart disease the patient has, eventually there is a gradual loss of this function. For the heart, the main burden it bears is the amount of blood we have, professionally called blood volume, and the resistance of our blood vessels, which can also be said to be what we normally call blood pressure. More blood or higher blood pressure will increase the burden on the heart. Therefore, for patients with heart disease, the first thing we need to pay attention to is these two aspects, reducing blood volume and controlling blood pressure. So how to reduce the blood volume? It is actually very simple, it is to control the patient’s fluid intake in general, including the amount of water or even fruits, etc., very strictly. In my clinical work I have encountered so many such patients who come in gasping and dying, and then after a simple treatment, the patient is fine. I have also seen a piece of watermelon kill a person, so it is important to note that the amount of fluid must be strictly controlled in patients with cardiac insufficiency. So how is it appropriate? I concluded that, on the one hand, you always feel a little thirsty, and urinate more than you drink, so that the heart will be more relaxed. On the other hand is the control of blood pressure, this is mainly for patients with hypertension, must pay attention. Many patients with hypertension have noticed that they have more or less left ventricular hypertrophy. Why? It is our heart load is too heavy, so the heart muscle to thicken. The reasoning is the same as we exercise, athletes always have well-developed muscles. All patients with heart failure, while taking their medication on time, as long as they pay attention to these two aspects, then the situation will certainly be very good.
