Sixteen cases (18) of distal radius comminuted fractures in middle-aged and young adults were treated with Orthofix external fixation brace. The results were excellent in 11 cases with 12 fractures, good in 3 cases with 4 fractures, acceptable in 2 cases with 2 fractures, and superficial infection of the pin tract in only 2 cases with 3 fractures, and no other complications were found. It is considered that the external fixation brace is an effective treatment for the treatment of distal radius comminuted fracture caused by high energy in middle-aged and young people, not only the fracture is satisfactorily repositioned, but also the fixation is really reliable and the joint function is satisfactorily restored.
