Polycystic ovary syndrome occurs in women between the ages of 15-45 years who are in their reproductive years. In our country, there is basically a period of adolescence and then a period during the reproductive years, 20-45 years. It is more common in women who are infertile and in patients with functional bleeding during adolescence. According to the statistics in China, the incidence is 7% among women of reproductive age. During my undergraduate studies, there were seven of us in one dormitory, and one of us had polycystic ovary syndrome, which is still a relatively high rate.
