After 3 weeks of treatment, Mr. Du’s abdominal pain improved with good clinical efficacy and did not recur after follow-up. The treatment plan was based on Chinese herbal medicine (Radix et Rhizoma, Radix Codonopsis, Rhizoma Atractylodes, Radix Ginger, Poria, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, Orange Kernel, Lychee Kernel, Jiao Sanxian, Chen Pi, Sha Ren). After 1 week of standardized medication, the patient’s symptoms improved significantly, no more abdominal pain and discomfort, food intake, night sleep, and normal bowel movements, and the condition basically improved after 2 weeks of taking the original formula without recurrence. After 2 days, the symptoms of Yang deficiency such as vague abdominal pain and loose stools were alleviated, but the weakness of the waist and knees was obvious, so the patient was given less Radix Aconiti; after 4 days, the weakness of the waist and knees was relieved, and the weakness of the spleen and poor appetite appeared, so the patient was given Jiao Sanxian, Chen Pi and Sha Ren to strengthen the spleen and benefit Qi, and orange kernels and lychee kernels to remove the liver and disperse nodules, move Qi and relieve pain to reduce the lower abdominal cramps. 1 week later, the patient’s symptoms were basically relieved.
