Technique: Electroacupuncture nerve stimulation for pelvic floor disorders Indications: Stress incontinence, urge incontinence, pelvic floor laxity (vaginal wall bulge, uterine prolapse), overactive bladder (urinary frequency and urgency syndrome), chronic pelvic floor pain syndrome (chronic non-bacterial prostatitis), neurogenic urinary disorders and other pelvic floor disorders. Electroacupuncture pudendal nerve stimulation (EPNS), for short, is a treatment method that directly excites the pudendal nerves and induces rhythmic contraction of the pelvic floor muscles by applying special acupuncture methods to four specific acupuncture points in the sacral area and electrical stimulation. EPNS combines the advantages of pelvic floor muscle training, electrical nerve stimulation therapy and deep acupuncture in Chinese medicine to induce rhythmic contraction of pelvic floor muscles through direct excitation of pubic nerves, thus enhancing the strength of pelvic floor muscles and improving urinary control. EPNS can also provide pelvic floor rehabilitation treatment for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction such as incontinence and abnormal pelvic floor sensation caused by spinal cord injury.
