How should I eat after congenital heart disease surgery?

The discharge of patients with precardiac disease is only the end of surgical treatment, which does not mean that the organism is completely recovered. It is necessary to arrange daily life with individual differences according to the type of heart disease and surgical method, whether there are surgical sequelae, and the condition of heart function, etc. Therefore, the following issues should be paid attention to after discharge from hospital for good home care. Postoperative diet: 1. It is advisable to strengthen nutrition during the recovery period, give a diet with high protein, low fat, high vitamin and easy to digest; encourage more vegetables, fruits and other foods containing more fiber, and keep the bowels unobstructed to reduce the heart load. 2, salty food intake should be given appropriate restrictions according to their heart function status, avoid drinking alcohol in the early stage, and do not overeat. If the surgery is normal and no sequelae occur, generally 6 months after congenital heart disease surgery can be given a low-salt diet, pickled wax products, salted eggs, salted fish and other foods containing too much salt should not be consumed as much as possible. 3, calcium supplementation is very important, calcium is a very important electrolyte to maintain the function of the heart. Foods with high calcium content include oranges, bananas, potatoes, dried fruits, beef, chicken, fish, etc. 4.Forbidden diet includes high fat (saturated fat) diet, sugar, salt, food containing more MSG, food containing preservatives; breastfed infants should be adjusted according to the symptoms, the amount of breast milk, no need to restrict; when using diuretics or cardiac stimulants, artificially limit the amount of breast milk, there is a risk of dehydration, so pay attention to the amount of breast milk and urination balance. 5. It is not advisable to eat more canned drinks and cold drinks. The ingredients are mainly sugar or saccharin, flavors, colors and water, but nutrition is often inadequate. Cold drinks are also enjoyed by children, but the digestive organs of children after major surgery are still in the recovery and adjustment phase, when the digestive function of children is often weak. Too cold food into the stomach will stimulate the gastric mucosa vasoconstriction, gastric juice secretion is reduced, affecting the digestive process of food in the gastrointestinal tract; at the same time will also weaken the gastrointestinal tract’s bactericidal ability, leading to infectious diseases in the gastrointestinal tract. 6, should not blindly supplement: some supplements are not suitable for children during growth and development.
