What to do when pregnant women have low fever

Low fever in pregnant women may be caused by poor resistance and cold. If the body temperature does not exceed 38.5 degrees, it is recommended that physical cooling, such as warm water baths, can be used to lower the temperature if the body temperature exceeds 38.5 degrees, medication can be used to lower the temperature. If a pregnant woman has a low fever, do not rush to blindly use drugs, first use a thermometer to measure the body temperature and monitor the specific temperature value, if it does not exceed 38.5 degrees, and no obvious physical discomfort, you can use a warm wet towel to wipe the forehead, armpits, forehead and other parts of the chest to cool down. If the body temperature exceeds 38.5 degrees, medications can be used to assist in cooling the body, such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen and other antipyretic drugs can be used. However, it should be noted that the interval between the first and second doses of antipyretic drugs should be at least 6 hours, and the use of antipyretic drugs should not exceed 4 times in 24 hours. If your body temperature does not drop to normal after taking antipyretic drugs or if you have recurrent fever, it is recommended that you go to the hospital promptly to find the source of the fever and not to use the drugs blindly, especially in the first trimester of pregnancy. This is a normal physiological reaction, because the resistance of pregnant women in the early stage of pregnancy will be poor, in the case of large changes in external temperature will appear low fever, but this low fever is generally within 37.2 degrees, in this case it is recommended to rest and drink more water, no special treatment. In short, pregnant women belong to a special group of people, fever and any other uncomfortable symptoms should be more carefully chosen fever reduction methods, and not to take their own drugs for treatment, so as not to cause adverse effects on the fetus.
