Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is a benign disease with a first reset success rate of about 78% and a certain recurrence rate, which is usually 20-30% and can be as high as 51% in the elderly. Proper implementation of post-reset precautions can help recover and reduce recurrence. The following instructions are required: 1. Rest for 10 minutes after treatment before returning home to prevent subsequent otolith reset from triggering a brief vertigo attack immediately afterwards. Do not drive back. 2. Rest in a semi-recumbent position for two nights, which means that the patient’s head is between supine and upright, elevated 45 degrees. During the day, keep the head in a vertical position as much as possible, do not condition the hair or visit the dentist, and do not perform exercises that move the head. 3. For at least one week, avoid triggering head positions that may cause recurrence of BPPV, such as sleeping with two pillows, avoiding lying on the affected side, not raising and lowering the head too much, being careful to avoid tilting the head too far back when lying on the back, and trying to maintain an upright position. 4.With the reset of the otolith, the vertigo disappears, but some patients show symptoms such as dizziness or balance disorder, which are normal reactions. 5.After treatment, patients are advised to stay in the healthy side position for 1 week, and avoid strenuous activities, sports activities and physical labor. 6.If there are still vertigo attacks, you need to see the doctor again and reposition the vertigo manually, some cases need to be repositioned several times to relieve.
