Protect your ears from noise

Noise hearing loss, also known as noise deafness, is due to long-term noise stimulation and the occurrence of a slow, progressive auditory damage, damage site in the inner ear; the human inner ear has 18,000 auditory cells, which is a kind of sensory hearing, diameter of about 0.01 mm ciliated cells, susceptible to noise, damage can not be regenerated. Long-term noise stimulation of the cochlea vascular stripe blood circulation disorders, serious endothelial cell damage, followed by degenerative lesions of the spiral ganglion, lesions in the cochlea, the end of the basal circle and the second circle of the cochlea is the most serious lesions. This area is mainly responsible for receiving 4000 HZ sound stimulation (high frequency), the damage to this frequency on our daily life has less impact, not easy to be noticed; but as the damage persists, hearing further decline in other frequencies, which will lead to what we call “deafness”, people’s lives, learning will be seriously affected, and ultimately, the only way to solve the problem is to use hearing aids. Ultimately, the only way to solve the hearing problem is through hearing aids. Since noise-induced hearing loss is irreversible and the consequences of deafness are serious, how can young people, as a high-risk group, protect their hearing and use their ears safely? The doctor’s advice is this: 1, reduce exposure: often wear headphones, especially like to wear built-in headphones to listen to CD enthusiasts, should master the “60-60-60” principle, that is: the volume does not exceed 60% of the maximum sound, the continuous listening time of no more than 60 minutes, the outside world, the best sound is not more than 60 decibels; built-in headphones to listen to MP3 enthusiasts to follow the “60-60-60” principle; to listen to MP3 enthusiasts to follow the “60-60-60” principle. MP3 enthusiasts should follow the “80-90 principle”, i.e., the volume does not exceed 80% of the maximum volume, and the continuous listening time does not exceed 90 minutes. 2, individual protection: participate in noise activities, pay attention to the use of earplugs, ear muffs and anti-sound cap, which is an effective measure to block the noise and reduce hearing damage. 3, the formation of good habits: to develop good habits to protect hearing is crucial. Correct use of the ear in life include: (1) not often digging the ear; (2) keep the ear canal dry; (3) blowing the nose correctly; (4) ear disease timely treatment. Ancient Chinese people summarized “smart ears and eyes” as intelligence, which shows that good eyesight and hearing are the basic guarantee for our ability to learn and live. Teenagers have heavy school work, frequent use of the ear, vulnerable to noise, is the “safe use of the ear” knowledge should be popularized to the object. On the occasion of “Ear Care Day” in 2015, I would like to participate in the activity of “Safe Ear Use, Hearing Protection” with all the friends to help more people to stay away from noise, stay away from injuries, and protect their ears and hearing. Let us enjoy the ability to listen to beautiful sounds for a long time through our own efforts!
