Cervical spondylosis cognitive seven myths

1.Rattling sound when you turn your head and neck, mistakenly thinking that you have cervical spondylosis. The joints of the human body, including the cervical spine, normally have more or less rattling sounds, which are caused by friction between ligaments and bones or between bones and bones when moving. If there is no other discomfort, there is no need to worry about the occasional ringing when simply turning the head and neck, which is mostly a physiological phenomenon and not cervical spondylosis. 2, the neck and shoulders feel sore, think it is cervical spondylosis. Many people feel soreness in the neck or shoulder from time to time for a number of reasons, including myofasciitis of the neck and shoulder, muscle strain, frozen shoulder, early cervical spondylosis, etc. For early cervical spondylosis, patients usually have relatively clear bad working and living habits, such as playing with cell phones with their heads down for a long time recently, staring at the computer for a long time and working overtime. Therefore, cervical spondylosis can lead to symptoms such as neck and shoulder pain, but not all neck and shoulder discomfort is cervical spondylosis. 3, low pillow will have nothing to do with cervical spondylosis. The right pillow can let the tired neck muscles and surrounding ligaments and other tissues get a full repair, the pillow is too high, too low is not conducive to neck rest, can cause or aggravate cervical spondylosis. The ideal pillow should be able to maintain the normal physiological curvature of the cervical spine, the pillow is too low, the cervical spine is equivalent to being in a backward (backward) position, the pillow is too high, the cervical spine is equivalent to being in a forward-flexed (head down) state, both of these postures are incorrect, is not conducive to the relief of the neck muscles. 4, simple exercise helps to relieve cervical spondylosis. For long-term office workers, low-headed people and other people with a high incidence of cervical spondylosis, prevention should be the main focus. Change lifestyle, such as using the computer, playing cell phones, playing mahjong and other long time low, to 40-60 minutes rest for about 10 minutes, get up and walk, do neck activities, etc.. Avoid reading books and newspapers and cell phones before going to bed half-lying. These changes in living habits are very important to block the occurrence of cervical spondylosis at the source. For early cervical spondylosis, such as neck and shoulder pain and stiffness, simple neck exercises can have some effect, but when the nerve is compressed, any exercise method is not helpful. 5, hand numbness and dizziness is cervical spondylosis. There are many reasons for hand numbness, such as mouse hand, elbow canal syndrome, cervical spondylosis, etc. Similarly, there are various reasons for dizziness, such as unstable blood pressure, insufficient blood supply to the basilar artery, Meniere’s disease, cervical spondylosis, etc. Therefore, it is not hand numbness, dizziness is cervical spondylosis, once the symptoms appear, to promptly seek medical advice. 6.Only the appearance of cervical spine osteophytes is considered as cervical spondylosis. Some people think it is cervical spondylosis when they find cervical spine osteophytes on routine checkup and X-ray, which is a wrong understanding. Cervical spondylosis is a clinical syndrome caused by long-term strain and osteophytes in the cervical spine, or degeneration of intervertebral discs and thickening of ligaments, resulting in pressure on the cervical spinal cord, nerve roots or vertebral arteries, further leading to a series of dysfunctions. Patients with cervical spondylosis will have more or less varying degrees of osteophytes, but some people have osteophytes but no clinical symptoms, which cannot be called cervical spondylosis. 7, cervical spondylosis is a disease of the elderly, young people will not get. Cervical spondylosis mostly occurs in office workers and long-time desk workers, with the popularity of the network and the promotion of mobile device terminals, there is a trend of cervical spondylosis becoming younger. Clinically, many IT people in their twenties and thirties suffer from cervical spondylosis, and cervical spondylosis is not just the “patent” of the elderly.
