Close contacts of the case Che Ho do home medical observation

Close contacts of confirmed cases of pneumonia with novel coronavirus infection should be placed under medical observation for 14 days from the last day of contact with the patient. Specific recommendations are as follows: (1) Place close contacts in a single, well-ventilated room and deny all visits. (2) Restrict activities of close contacts and minimize common areas for close contacts and family members to move around. (3) Family members should live in different rooms, and if conditions do not allow, keep at least 1 meter distance from close contacts. (4) Other family members should wear masks when entering the living space of close contacts, and the masks should be close to the face, and should not be touched and adjusted in the living space. (5) Hands need to be cleaned after having any direct contact with the close contacts or after leaving the close contact living space. (6) When using hand sanitizer and running water to wash hands, it is best to use disposable hand wipes. If not, wipe with a clean towel, which needs to be replaced when it becomes wet. (7) Materials used to cover the mouth and nose during occasional coughing or sneezing can be discarded directly or washed properly after use (e.g., with plain soap/detergent and water). (8) Family members should minimize contact with close contacts and their supplies. (9) Recommend the use of chlorinated disinfectants and peracetic acid disinfectants to clean and disinfect items frequently touched by family members on a daily basis. (10) Use ordinary laundry soap and water to wash close contacts’ clothes, bed sheets, bath towels and washcloths, or wash them in a washing machine with 60-90°C water and ordinary household laundry detergent, then dry the above items completely. (11) Wear a mask, disposable gloves and protective clothing (such as a plastic apron) before cleaning and touching the surface of objects, clothing or bedding contaminated by human secretions from close contacts. Clean and disinfect hands before wearing gloves and after taking off gloves. (12) If a close contact of a confirmed case develops suspicious symptoms, including fever, cough, sore throat, chest tightness, dyspnea, mild nausea, and malaise, seek immediate medical attention.
