How long can you live after colon cancer surgery?

The length of life after colon cancer surgery is related to the pathological stage to which it belongs at the time of treatment, and there are differences in the length of survival for colon cancer patients with different stages. Colon cancer is a relatively common malignant tumor in the gastrointestinal tract, usually characterized by the main symptoms such as change in stool habits, stool characteristics as well as blood in stool, emaciation, anemia and abdominal masses. In case of early stage colon cancer, i.e. stage I and II colon cancer, no lymphatic metastasis and no distant metastasis, most patients’ life expectancy will not be affected if the surgery is complete. In case of stage III colon cancer patients, the five-year survival period after surgery spans over a wide range, and the general five-year survival rate is 30%-70%. In addition, after colon cancer surgery, patients should eat more high-protein foods, such as milk, lean meat, eggs, etc., to increase nutrition, and try to eat less and more meals, eat more easily digestible foods, and try not to overeat.
