There are rumors from netizens: Malaysian Chinese have unintentionally found a life recipe, cut open a raw onion, inhale a few 10 times, the pungent spicy smell of onions, can play an antiseptic effect, can prevent the new crown pneumonia. The pungent odor of onions comes from sulfur compounds such as propylene sulfide. In in vitro experiments, propylene sulfide has demonstrated some antibacterial ability, but Neoplastic pneumonia is a virus, which is completely different from bacteria. Even if it is considered antiseptic, it needs to be in sufficient quantity and in contact with bacteria, not just a few sniffs of onion.
