I believe that every parent wants their children to have a pair of beautiful and bright eyes. But do you know how your child’s eyesight develops? Do you know your child’s vision? Have you ever given your child eye care? What should I do if my child has vision problems? To solve these problems, we must first understand the normal development of children’s vision, in order to identify problems and solve them in a timely manner. The normal development of vision requires normal refraction of the eye and appropriate stimulation of the external environment. Newborns respond to light after birth, but can only see clearly at a distance of 20 cm and have the ability to gaze briefly. After 2 weeks, newborns can begin to distinguish between red and blue colors, and after 1 month, both eyes can gaze at the light source and begin to show head-eye coordination. After 2 months, both eyes can gaze at an object at the same time, and when the object moves, the eyeballs turn inward with it. At 4 to 5 months, the head-eye coordination is good, both eyes move with the object 1800, can gaze at the object, and the visual acuity reaches 0.1. At 6 to 7 months, the gaze moves with the object in vertical direction 900, and can change the body position to coordinate the vision, can identify the size of the object form and the speed of movement. At 10 to 12 months, they become interested in small objects and their visual acuity reaches 0.2. At 3 years old, their visual acuity reaches 0.4 to 0.5. At 4 years old, their visual acuity reaches 0.6. At 5 years old, their visual acuity reaches 0.8 or more. At age 6, vision develops normally and reaches 1.0. This is the developmental process of a normal child’s vision, a stage that every child must go through. The development of a child’s vision is a process from low to high, and the improvement and maturation of vision takes place under normal eye structure and appropriate environmental stimulation. We hope that parents will promptly identify their children’s vision problems and pay attention to children’s eye health.
