Manifestations of drooling OCD

Drooling OCD comes from the news and is a form of OCD from a medical perspective. The main manifestation of OCD is that the patient focuses excessively on the mouth, resulting in the secretion of saliva, or saliva, which causes a dilemma of stuttering. Generally, there are two forms of expression: 1. The compulsion is triggered by imagining the process of swallowing saliva, or doubting whether the saliva can be swallowed completely, that is, compulsive doubt. In this case, the patient takes the method of repeatedly swallowing saliva to relieve the anxiety caused by his obsessive suspicion, but then fears that swallowing too much saliva will attract the attention of others or be considered abnormal by others, causing new anxiety, and the patient begins to experiment with the method of swallowing saliva again. Excessive swallowing of saliva causes patients to experience discomfort such as poor bowel movements, loss of appetite, and sore throat, leading to fears of discomfort, thus aggravating the rejection of swallowing saliva, but there is no way to control it, making it more painful and anxious inside; 2. The compulsive symptom triggering is accompanied by various imaginations of swallowing saliva, believing that others hear the sound of their own swallowing, or observe their own swallowing The fear of influencing others’ evaluation of oneself. Especially in the presence of important people or occasions, there is a fear of drawing attention to oneself by swallowing incessantly, and the fear of causing more saliva secretion makes swallowing even more uncontrollable. Patients often develop avoidance behavior, deliberately avoiding important occasions or people, affecting their own social and future.
