Recently, the Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital successfully performed an esophageal cancer resection for an 83-year-old man without any complications, which marks a new level of surgical and perioperative management of elderly patients with esophageal cancer by the Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital, and also marks a great improvement in the level of multidisciplinary collaboration, surgical and anesthesiological techniques, as well as the level of critical care techniques of our hospital.
