Treatment of ankle instability

Surgical treatment is indicated for patients who still have chronic ankle instability after strict conservative treatment and functional rehabilitation. Surgical approaches include: 1. non-anatomic ligament reconstruction 2. anatomic repair and anatomic reconstruction. Anatomical ligament repair and reconstruction are preferred, which can better restore the biomechanics of the ankle joint: 1. When the condition of the ruptured ligament allows, direct anatomical repair of the anterior talofibular ligament and the Achilles fibular ligament, with anchor fixation; 2. When the condition of the anterior talofibular ligament and the Achilles fibular ligament does not allow direct anatomical repair, anatomical reconstruction of the homologous allogeneic tendon or autologous tendon graft, with fixation of the interface nails; 3. Total ankle arthroscopic ligament reconstruction, which can also be used to treat the other ligaments in the ankle joint. At the same time, other lesions in the ankle joint can be handled.
