Hepatic haemangiomas generally do not require treatment and should only be followed up regularly to observe changes. Surgery or treatment is required if the haemangioma increases rapidly in the short term, or if symptoms become apparent due to its size, or if it ruptures and bleeds.
Surgical treatment is available not only through traditional open surgery, but also through laparoscopy, which is less invasive and has a lower incidence of post-operative complications.
In addition to surgery, interventional methods such as arterial embolisation and radiofrequency ablation are also available in specific cases to treat hepatic haemangiomas, which are less invasive than laparoscopic resection.
