Specific details of functional exercise after breast cancer surgery

Breast cancer requires removal of the pectoralis major muscle and nerves, which makes it difficult to lift the upper limbs after surgery. At the same time, due to the removal of axillary lymph nodes, the lymphatic flow is obstructed and the upper limbs are edematous, so it is important to exercise the upper limbs after surgery. Exercise should be started in the early postoperative period, wait until after the formation of surgical scars, and then the exercise effect is poor.
1.Early rehabilitation exercise (within 2 weeks after surgery)
The first section (24 hours after surgery) fist clenching exercise: clench loose fist
The second section (48 hours after surgery) wrist exercise: move the wrist up and down, with internal and external rotation exercise.
The third section (the third day after surgery) forearm exercises: up and down flexion and extension of the forearm
The fourth section (the 5th postoperative day) elbow exercise: elbow supported by the waist, arm elevated and placed on the opposite side of the chest, alternating sides.
Section 5 (postoperative day 7) elbow holding exercise: the healthy side hand holds the elbow of the affected hand and lifts it to the front of the chest
Section 6 (postoperative day 9) shoulder release exercise: rotate the shoulder forwards and backwards
Section 7 (postoperative day 10) upper arm exercise: raise the upper arm as high as possible parallel to the ground
Section 8 (postoperative day 11) neck exercise: cross your arms and rotate your head and neck forward, backward, left, right and in both directions
Section 9 (postoperative day 12) body rotation exercise: rotate the upper body left and right and swing the arms back and forth.
Section 10 (day 14 after surgery) shoulder lifting exercise: hold the affected wrist on the healthy side to the front of the abdomen, lift it up to the chest in flat flexion, and try your best to extend it forward.
2.Mid-term rehabilitation exercise (within 3 months after surgery)
The first section of stretching exercise: spread both hands to both sides about 45°, cross both hands to the oblique down in front of the abdomen, repeat the spread.
The second section of the lateral push and pull exercise: the healthy side of the wrist to hold the affected side of the chest flat flexion, to the affected side of the push, healthy side of the pull
The third section of the hand-shaking exercise: both forearms are held forward flat, both arms swing from the front to the back, both forearms swing forward up to the back side of the head.
The fourth section of the chest expansion exercise: both hands raised to the chest flat flexion, to both sides of the force to spread, restore to flat flexion
The fifth section of the lateral raise exercise: both hands lateral raise, bend elbows and shoulder width, restore to the side of the flat.
Section VI lifting movement: the healthy side of the affected wrist to the front of the abdomen, pull to the chest flat flexion, lifting overhead
Section VII circumferential exercise: the healthy side of the hand holding the affected wrist, from the front of the chest from the affected side of the upward circumferential lifting, and then to the healthy side of the downward circumferential alternating.
Section VIII of the abdominal back exercise: hands placed to the shoulders, upward lateral lift on both sides of the head, lunge, bend over, hands straight down
The ninth section of the body turn exercise: arms up, one hand crossed waist, while rotating backward, eyes move with the other hand
Tenth section of finishing exercises: step in place, swinging hands back and forth
3, late rehabilitation exercises (3 months after surgery, and with swimming, table tennis and other sports)
The first section of the warm-up exercise: feet shoulder-width apart, arms with inhalation, exhalation up and down to do wrap-around action
The second section of the head shaking exercise: left and right head shaking
The third section of the head exercise: head down, hands up to the chest, head up, hands holding each other to the top of the head, with the back and forth tiptoe movement.
The fourth section of the arm extension exercise: left and right shift the center of gravity, arms rise in turn, with the head lifting action
The fifth section of the side waist exercise: side waist muscle, low head and jaw chest, after slowly rising, shoulders backward around
Section six turn waist exercise: left and right shift the weight to turn the waist, arm bending.
Section 7: Loop exercise: double arms in a big loop, shifting weight left and right
Active functional exercise for breast cancer patients after surgery is of great significance to the recovery of the body and improvement of the quality of life.
