For patients whose pregnancy is already close to delivery, antineoplastic therapy should be administered after delivery. For longer periods of time until fetal full term, then antineoplastic therapy must be initiated. There is no evidence that termination of pregnancy at 3 or 6 months affects its prognosis. Modified radical mastectomy is the treatment of choice and anesthesia during the procedure can increase the rate of spontaneous abortion in women who become pregnant in the first 3 months.
