Aspartate aminotransferase is mainly found in cardiac muscle, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, pancreas and other tissue cells. When this index is high in serum, we need to clarify the cause of its elevation first, and then take corresponding treatment measures in combination with the cause. I. Physiological causes: strenuous exercise or prolonged walking will result in high serum aspartate aminotransferase for a short period of time, which can return to normal after removing the above-mentioned triggers and does not require special treatment. Pathological causes: 1. Myocardial infarction: Since aspartate aminotransferase mainly exists in cardiac muscle cells, when myocardial infarction occurs, the enzyme will be rapidly released into the blood and will reach its peak in 24 hours. Medication to dilate coronary vessels and reduce the load on the heart needs to be used for the infarction, and coronary vascular stenting or surgical bypass treatment can also be chosen depending on the condition. If there is no more new myocardial infarction, serum aspartate aminotransferase will gradually return to normal and will no longer be elevated; 2. Liver damage: various diseases causing liver damage can have high aspartate aminotransferase, mostly accompanied by elevated alanine aminotransferase. Liver-protective and enzyme-lowering drugs, such as silymarin and glycyrrhizin, can be applied as prescribed by the doctor, while the treatment needs to be directed at the cause. For example, for viral hepatitis, combination therapy with pegylated interferon, ribavirin and other drugs need to be applied under the guidance of doctors. If it is fatty liver, pay attention to weight loss, choose low-fat and high-protein diet, and enhance exercise appropriately. In case of autoimmune liver disease, apply glucocorticoids, azathioprine, morte-macrolide or ursodeoxycholic acid as prescribed by the doctor for treatment. For drug-related liver damage, it is necessary to stop the drugs with liver damage and change the treatment plan. In addition, aspartate aminotransferase is also found in the pancreas, muscle, kidney, lymph and other tissues, and damage or lesions in these organs may also cause high aspartate aminotransferase.
