World Cancer Fund’s 10 recommendations for cancer prevention 1. Ensure that body weight is maintained within the normal range (BMI 21-23) and avoid weight gain and waist circumference increase throughout adulthood. 2. Perform at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity (equivalent to brisk walking) every day, and increase the duration and intensity of activity appropriately as the body’s adaptability increases, i.e. 60 minutes or more of moderate-intensity or 30 minutes or more of heavy physical activity, and avoid bad habits such as sedentary TV watching. 3.Eat less food with high energy density (more than 225-227 kcal/100) (high-fat, sugar-added, low-fiber food) and avoid sugary drinks (including fruit juice); eat as little fast food as possible. 4, eat a variety of non-starchy vegetables and fruits (at least 400 grams) every day, eat whole grains (such as oats, barley, buckwheat, brown rice, corn, etc.) and legumes (such as soy) every day, providing at least 25 grams of non-starchy polysaccharides daily. 5, the weekly intake of pork, beef, lamb and other red meat to less than 500 grams, as little as possible to eat smoked, cured or preserved by adding chemical preservatives cooked meat products. 6, if alcohol, no more than 2 servings per day for men and no more than 1 serving for women (1 serving of alcohol is about 10-15 grams of ethanol). 7.Avoid salted or salty foods, ensure that the daily salt intake is less than 6 grams (2.3 grams of sodium), and do not eat moldy cereals or legumes. 8. Do not recommend the use of dietary supplements for cancer prevention and emphasize meeting nutritional needs through the diet itself. Two special recommendations: 9. exclusively breastfeed infants for 6 months, and later breastfeed while adding complementary foods; 10. cancer survivors follow recommendations on proper diet, healthy weight and physical activity during active treatment. And refrain from smoking and chewing tobacco.
