We have been performing cosmetic eye surgery for fifty years and have accumulated a lot of clinical experience. However, we never use any Chinese or Korean style double eyelids to force them on every candidate’s eyes. Because everyone has different eye development, thick and thin eyelids, large and small eye fissures, and canthal fissures, it is not scientific to generalize with a so-called style. Our plastic and cosmetic surgeons must carefully analyze the shape, characteristics, and proportional relationship between the eyes and the face of each candidate, and develop a corresponding surgical plan according to their requirements. At present, the commonly used surgical methods are: 1, incision method. 2, buried wire method. 3, minimally invasive method (also known as small incision). In my opinion, the width of the eyelid is usually 6-7mm, narrower for younger people than wider for older people, depending on the depth of the eye socket and the thickness of the eyelid. In my opinion, if the skin is not loose, the skin will be tightened after surgery and the scar will be obvious, and even the closure will be incomplete. A little older with loose skin, can consider removing part of the skin but also prior design, should not be more. It is important to be calm and beneficial. If after middle age the purpose is not to rejuvenate the eyelid but to address patients with loose skin on the lid, then more should be cut off without affecting the closure as standard. If the upper eyelid orbital fat is obviously bulging and appears thick and unnatural after surgery, it should be removed, but the fat should not be removed too much, and if there is no obvious bulging and the shape is natural after surgery, in principle, the fat should not be removed as it will cause a sunken eye deformity over time. Therefore, I think that any cosmetic surgery must be combined with the specific situation of each person, according to the requirements of the individual design, using the best surgical method, in order to achieve satisfactory results.
