The most effective treatment for acute ischemic stroke is thrombolysis, which can be intravenous or arterial. The time window for intravenous thrombolysis is within 4.5 hours after the onset of the disease. Although there is a certain risk of bleeding, it is basically safe according to our application experience. All families should remember that the earlier thrombolysis is started, the better the results. If the time window for thrombolysis has passed, then arterial thrombolysis can be performed within 6 hours in the anterior circulation, 12 hours in the posterior circulation, or even up to 24 hours in some cases (provided that the family is willing to take the risk), which includes pure drug thrombolysis after the catheter is in place, as well as the application of stents for mechanical pulling of embolism, and then thrombolysis is more effective, and will greatly improve the patient’s symptoms and reduce the death and disability rate. The rate of death and disability will be reduced. We hope that we can do our part for the majority of patients, but of course, prevention is the first thing to do, and it is most important to do all the primary and secondary prevention of stroke.
