Symptoms of breast cancer metastasis in clavicular lymph nodes

Patients with breast cancer who have metastatic lymph nodes above and below the clavicle will have a distinct supraclavicular mass with localized pain. Because there are axillary veins or subclavian arteries, veins and branches of the cervical plexus under the clavicle, local compression or tumor invasion can lead to swelling, numbness and pain in the upper extremities and back of the shoulder. Lymph node edema, anemia and hypoproteinemia may also occur in advanced stages of the disease. Breast cancer patients with metastasis of lymph nodes above and below the clavicle is a manifestation of advanced stage. In this case, surgery is not suitable, but local radiation therapy combined with intravenous chemotherapy can control the rapid development of tumor cells and reduce the patient’s pain.
