  In the case of cirrhotic patients, outpatient follow-up often pays attention to fasting glucose, so what is normal fasting glucose?  Here again, even if fasting blood glucose is completely normal, there are still some patients whose post-prandial blood glucose already meets the criteria for diabetes diagnosis! So again, monitoring fasting blood glucose in cirrhotic patients does not reflect the full picture of glucose metabolism!
