There are three main treatments for male pituitary macroadenoma. 1. Surgery. The probability of pituitary macroadenoma in men is generally higher, so surgical treatment is needed. The surgery includes two methods, one is the transsphenoidal sinus approach and the other is craniotomy. The specific surgical approach depends on the size of the pituitary tumor and the extent of the tissue invaded. 2. Radiation therapy is used. Radiation therapy is generally not used as a separate treatment for pituitary tumors, but is usually used for patients with poor results or suspected malignant invasion after drug or surgical treatment. 3.Medical treatment. Internal drug therapy is mainly applied to pituitary lactinoma, which can sometimes be relieved by drug therapy.
