The efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of mastocytosis

Mastocytosis is one of the most prevalent diseases in women of childbearing age, accounting for the first place in the incidence of breast diseases. With the accelerated pace of life, changes in dietary habits and changes in the social environment in recent years, its incidence is on the rise year by year, seriously threatening the health and quality of life and work of women. According to Chinese medicine, this disease belongs to the category of “breast fetish” and “tuberculosis in the breast”, with breast pain and breast lumps as the main clinical manifestations, and the symptoms can change with emotions and menstrual cycle. Western medicine believes that this disease is mainly caused by endocrine disorders, especially estrogen and progesterone imbalance, the treatment has not yet formed a special special drugs, mainly hormonal drug treatment, but there are certain side effects. Chinese medicine has a long history and rich experience in understanding this disease, and has a comprehensive understanding in identifying the disease and evidence in Chinese medicine, and the treatment includes Chinese medicine and various external treatment methods, which have achieved certain therapeutic effects. It also provides new treatment means for some patients who cannot or do not want to accept oral medication. We selected localized acupuncture points in the breast, such as Tanzhong, Yaguan (double), Breast Root (double), and Shimen (double), as well as distal dialectical selection of Fenglong (double) and Sanyinjiao (double), in order to dredge the liver and dissolve phlegm, regulate qi and harmonize the flushing. It was found that the patient’s breast pain could be significantly relieved and the local lump could be reduced at the same time. (Comparison before and after treatment) Ultrasound showed a significant reduction in breast gland thickness and ductal duct diameter. We believe that acupuncture is an effective way to treat this disease because it is easy to operate, economical and safe, without toxic side effects, and can avoid the stimulating effect of drugs on the gastrointestinal tract through the liver and intestinal circulation, and it helps patients to have a correct understanding of the disease and regulate their bad emotions through good communication between doctors and patients during the acupuncture process.
