Answers to questions about hand swelling after breast cancer surgery

The patient’s hand is a little swollen after surgery, sometimes it is better, sometimes it is a little swollen, and the whole hand is much bigger than the other hand, what is the reason? Is this a precursor of recurrence of the disease? What can be done to reduce the swelling? After breast cancer surgery, some veins and lymphatic vessels have to be ligated when the lymph nodes in the axilla are cleared, and the return flow of the affected limb is poor after surgery. Therefore, we should try to avoid infusion, exertion and prolonged dropping of the affected limb after surgery. There are no effective medications available, but rest and elevation of the affected limb are the main treatments, and edema treatment devices are also available. The edema caused by recurrence of breast cancer after surgery is mostly gradually aggravated, and enlarged lymph nodes can be felt in the armpit.
