As early as the 1990s, our predecessors had already started to experiment with various minimally invasive methods to relieve patients’ pain and minimize trauma. Think of how rewarding it is to be able to solve a major problem with just a few small incisions. Advantages of laparoscopic surgery: 1. Less traumatic: the abdominal cavity is not opened and exposed to air; with the help of the camera system (with magnification, the observation angle and distance are closer to the operating part), the exposure of the surgical field is adequate and clearer than in traditional surgery; the damage of the surgical operation is minimal, and the parts outside the surgical area are not unnecessarily disturbed by the operation; electrodesiccation and electrocoagulation and absorbable clips are used. The foreign body in the surgical site is significantly less than that of traditional surgery. 2. Less pain and faster recovery: Since the trauma in the operation is much less than that of open surgery, the postoperative incision pain is mild, and the patient can get out of bed and eat in 24-48 hours, and the incision infection and other complications are significantly lower than that of open surgery, and the incision does not need to be removed (a band-aid can be applied). Patients generally recover completely within 7 days after surgery and can be put into normal work and life. Short hospitalization time: generally 2-4 days after surgery can be discharged. 3, economic savings in medical expenses: due to the short hospitalization time of laparoscopy and less postoperative medication, it reduces the economic burden of patients. Less abdominal cosmetic and intra-abdominal adhesions: after the healing of the abdominal wall incision after surgery, the scar is not obvious, and there is no long scar of the incision as in open surgery. Intra-abdominal interference is small, and postoperative abdominal adhesions rarely occur.
