Can the “epilepsy” label be removed?

For most people, “epilepsy” is a synonym for something like mental illness. People with epilepsy also feel that it is a constant pain in their hearts. So, can the “epilepsy” brain be removed? In the past, epilepsy was thought to be a chronic, lifelong condition. Most epilepsy is manageable. However, at least 30% of people with epilepsy will continue to have seizures, and this group of patients is called refractory epilepsy. There has long been controversy about whether epilepsy is a condition or a disease. 2014 the International League Against Epilepsy, released a new definition of epilepsy that is a boon for people with well-controlled epilepsy. The new definition states that patients with age-dependent epilepsy syndrome who have passed the age at which the condition applies, or who have been consistently seizure-free for the last 10 years and have been consistently free of antiepileptic drugs for the last 5 years can be considered cured of epilepsy.
