Repeated fever in children with purulent tonsillitis for a few days

In general, recurrent fever in children with purulent tonsillitis should last about 5 days because the infection of children with Streptococcus haemolyticus causes sore throat and inflammation of the tonsils. If the infection is severe, the tonsils may become septic and cause high fever. In this case, the child should be given anti-infection treatment, such as amoxicillin or cefadroxil, in a timely manner. The fever will subside when the streptococcal infection is controlled, but in the case of purulent tonsillitis, the infection will take longer to control, mostly about 5 days.
