The surgical treatment of epilepsy requires close multidisciplinary collaboration. Our team’s working model is to perform preoperative evaluation (under the responsibility of Dr. Ren Liankun) when the benefit of surgical treatment is initially judged to be much greater than that of continued pharmacological treatment in epileptic patients, including long-range video EEG monitoring, seizure symptomatology-EEG analysis, structural and functional imaging and Wada test, and in a small number of patients, intracranial EEG. On this basis, full discussion was held with neurosurgeons, and patients with accurate localization and surgical treatment that basically would not affect normal brain function were transferred to neurosurgery for surgical treatment (Director Yu Yanbing and Dr. Li Rui were in charge). The picture shows that Dr. Ren Liankun and Dr. Li Rui of neurosurgery fully discussed and formulated the surgical plan before the operation.
