Types of antihypertensive drugs and general knowledge

How many antihypertensive drugs are currently available? A conservative estimate is that there are no less than a few dozen. These various types of antihypertensive drugs come in different shapes and have a variety of names. Since the Ministry of Health regulations on the chemical name of drugs to write and circulation of the original name, the attribution behind the various trade names of these drugs is clear. But the chemical name is generally more tongue-twisting, long and even remote, not as catchy and personalized as the trade name. If it is a compound preparation, the chemical name is a long string. At present, there are five types of first-line antihypertensive drugs, commonly used as follows: 1, diuretics, such as hydrochlorothiazide, indapamide, spironolactone, etc. 2, beta-blockers, such as ponerol, atenolol, metoprolol tartrate, bisoprolol fumarate, etc. 3. Calcium antagonists, such as nifedipine, nifedipine, felodipine, amlodipine, etc. Some drugs are made into extended-release tablets or controlled-release tablets by special process due to their short duration of action, which can reduce the number of doses and keep blood pressure stable and reduce fluctuations. 4.Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, such as captopril, enalapril, benazepril, etc. 5, angiotensin antagonists, such as crosartan, valsartan, irbesartan, temisartan, etc. These drugs are actually very easy to remember, you see if the name with “Lol” is a class of beta-blockers, “Diphenhydramine” belongs to a class of calcium antagonists, “Pulley” belongs to a class of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, and “sartan” belongs to the class of angiotensin antagonists. The same class of drugs has similar mechanisms of action and side effects. These drugs are sometimes made into a kind of compound, such as Irbesartan Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets, Clofibrate Potassium Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets, etc. In addition, some antihypertensive drugs are not used as regular first-line antihypertensive drugs due to side effects, but only in some special cases, such as reserpine, prazosin, and some intravenous drugs such as sodium nitroprusside, uradil, etc. are also used under close monitoring by doctors in special cases.
