In the process of treating patients with vertigo, we found several interesting cases, which we would like to tell you here. One case: female, 32 years old, daughter of the retired president of our hospital, was admitted to our gastroenterology department for nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, with no significant abnormality in all examinations for one week. He had a positive Hallpike test, typical nystagmus, but no vertigo, and was discharged from the hospital after the nausea, vomiting and diarrhea disappeared after the manual repositioning. When I told the old seniors at home about otoliths, the old dean of the internal medicine department said, “I’ve never heard of otoliths”, and the diagnosis and treatment of otoliths need to be publicized and paid attention to! Two cases: female, 85 years old, retired cadre, every time she lies down, she has panic attacks and breath-holding, in the words of the old man: “when she lies down, her heart is in panic”, she went to the cardiology department, the ECG was not abnormal, the chest CT was normal, and the cardiology department asked for a consultation. After giving her a positive Hallpike test and typical nystagmus without vertigo, she was discharged from the hospital and went home. Three cases: A 3-year-old girl vomited when she woke up in the morning, she was afraid to open her eyes, cried to her mother and said, “Mom, the wall is spinning. The child said, “Mom, I’m hungry,” and the mother cried and wiped tears of joy. To sum up, these three cases have something in common, they are all related to postural changes, not vertigo, but one or several of the common accompanying symptoms of vertigo, so we would like to discuss them with you, the doctor’s happiness is the same as the patient’s, the greatest wish of both doctors and patients is to get rid of the disease by hand! May health accompany every person!
