Cough is a common clinical symptom, and some patients cough when they encounter cold air. There may be several reasons for this: i. Cold air forms a cold stimulus to the respiratory tract, and the airway itself has a hypersensitive state leading to tracheal spasm and cough; ii. Some patients are prone to cold symptoms, which can be accompanied by nasal congestion, runny nose and increased secretions in the throat, stimulating the formation of the trachea; iii. For patients with chronic pharyngitis and chronic bronchitis, exposure to cold wind and cold will also cause discomfort in the throat and coughing; iv. Therefore, for such patients, they should pay attention to keeping warm, wear a mask, and strengthen their functional exercise to enhance their resistance. If necessary, oral montelukast can be used to reduce airway sensitivity and symptomatic treatment of cough.
