For ear infections with running water, it is recommended that the patient first go to the ENT department of the hospital for an examination to clarify whether it is a simple external ear canal disease or a purulent otitis media. If it is simple otitis externa, simply using levofloxacin hydrochloride ear drops for anti-inflammatory purposes is sufficient, while avoiding water in the external ear canal. If it is acute purulent otitis media patients need to apply levofloxacin ear drops along with oral eucalyptus pinocampus intestinal soft capsules, together with cefaclor capsules taken orally for active anti-inflammatory treatment. When the pus in the patient’s external ear canal is significantly reduced, it is recommended to go to the hospital again to review the size of the tympanic membrane perforation, and if it is relatively small, there is a possibility of healing. If the perforation is large and affects the patient’s normal hearing or is accompanied by tinnitus, it is often necessary to rely on surgical repair, which requires hospitalization under general anesthesia.
