I am often asked this question by beauty lovers. There are many factors that affect the speed of recovery after surgery, including the patient’s physical condition, age, post-operative nutrition, maintenance and surgical operation methods, but there are generally some commonalities. The current double eyelid surgery methods are incision method and three-point minimally invasive. The three-point minimally invasive method (so-called Korean minimally invasive) combines the features of the buried line method and the incision method, making a small incision in the inner, middle, and outer eyelid positions, suturing them together to form the eyelid line, and removing some of the orbicularis muscle and orbital fat according to the situation: post-operative recovery: swelling usually takes about a week after surgery, and it takes about a month for the swelling to completely subside. Incisional method: swelling of the eyes is noticeable for three days after surgery, and there may be significant bruising or congestion around the orbit. The swelling will subside by one week, but there may still be mild bruising or macularity under the skin around the orbital area. 3-4 weeks, there will still be slight swelling, which is slightly unnatural, and 6-12 months for a complete return to naturalness and a fixed lid width. Stitch removal is 5-7 days after surgery. In addition to the surgical procedure, other factors should be taken into consideration, such as the swelling is faster in those with good skin elasticity and slower in those with poor skin elasticity; swelling is faster in younger people and slower in older people.
