Premature beats and atrial fibrillation which is more harmful need to be analyzed according to different situations, the size of the harm of the two can not be directly compared.
1. Atrial fibrillation is more harmful than premature beats: patients without underlying heart disease, occasional premature beats generally do not require special treatment, frequent premature beats with panic attacks, can be taken orally to slow down the heart rate of beta-blockers such as metoprolol. Prolonged atrial fibrillation is prone to the formation of wall thrombus in the left atrium, and the dislodgement of thrombus can lead to acute cerebral embolism, which may lead to death in severe cases, and early cardioversion and anticoagulation are needed.
2. Premature beats are more harmful than atrial fibrillation: if organic heart disease such as coronary artery disease, myocarditis and other causes of premature beats, without timely treatment, may induce ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation and other malignant arrhythmia, easy to death, at this time premature beats can be more harmful than atrial fibrillation, because simple atrial fibrillation is usually not induced lethal arrhythmia.
Premature beats are normal sinus rhythms in which an ectopic pacing point sends an early impulse that causes the heart to beat. Atrial fibrillation is an ectopic rhythm with disturbed electrical activity in the atria. The degree of risk is generally different when combined with different disease conditions. Therefore, if a patient develops premature beats or atrial fibrillation, it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital and be treated appropriately under a doctor’s evaluation.
