Patients with prostatitis often do not develop high blood pressure. Prostatitis does not directly cause increased vasoconstriction, which does not lead to increased blood pressure, and it does not release hormones that raise blood pressure, so it does not cause there to be an increase in blood pressure. However, when a patient with prostatitis is accompanied by sleep disturbances at night and poor rest, it may lead to a mild increase in blood pressure. It is recommended that other related tests be performed to clarify the exact cause of the elevated blood pressure. The elevated blood pressure may be primary elevated blood pressure or it may be secondary elevated blood pressure. But simple prostatitis does not lead to elevated blood pressure, because inflammation does not lead to increased vascular tone, there is no vasoconstriction pressure rise.
