Recently, we have conducted early exploration of pediatric pharyngeal reflux monitoring in China and adopted the latest global DX airway pH monitoring system for the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric pharyngeal reflux-related diseases, which has improved the efficiency and level of diagnosis and treatment. Pharyngeal reflux, also known as reflux laryngitis, is caused by the reflux of gastric contents into the pharynx or into the respiratory tract, resulting in mucosal damage and irritation, and causing corresponding symptoms. Due to atypical symptoms in children, often overlapping with symptoms of other respiratory diseases, and the lack of specific detection methods, pharyngeal reflux is easily misdiagnosed as common chronic pharyngitis and is not effectively treated with long-term antibiotics and cough suppressants. The DX Airway pH Monitoring System monitors pharyngeal pH over 24 hours with a thin flexible probe, continuously and dynamically measures the airway, and records pH changes via wireless transmission. The system allows for both diagnostic and efficacy observation, as well as synchronization with sleep monitoring for comprehensive assessment of upper and lower airway, gastrointestinal and sleep-related disorders. “The monitoring probe is only 0.54 mm in diameter, thin and flexible, making it particularly suitable for newborns and young children, causing no pain and not interfering with children’s eating and sleeping. The monitoring results are also extremely accurate.”
