What treatments are available for hyperthyroidism?

  Treatment of hyperthyroidism includes general adjuvant treatment and treatment specifically for hyperthyroidism.  The main points of adjuvant treatment are to remove the factors that trigger hyperthyroidism and symptomatic treatment, including Pay attention to proper rest and recuperation, change lifestyle, relieve tension and stress; change diet structure, control iodine intake, and establish a healthy and balanced diet; 2. Those with obvious panic, excessive sweating and weakness can take appropriate amount of b-blockers (e.g. Kang Xin, Jinan, etc.) orally until symptoms are obviously relieved. However, it is important to note that the Chinese herbal medicine should not contain iodine-rich ingredients.  Specialized treatment for hyperthyroidism can be broadly divided into three types: 1. Long-term here means taking the medication under the guidance of a doctor, at least for about one and a half to two years continuously.  2.Treatment with radioactive iodine-131.  3. Surgical treatment, in which most or part of the abnormally hyperfunctioning thyroid gland is removed to reduce the secretion of thyroid hormones.  Each of the above three treatment methods has its own advantages and disadvantages.
