External treatment of pulmonary fibrosis

Pulmonary fibrosis is the name of the disease in modern medicine, but in Chinese medicine, this disease belongs to the category of “lung impotence” and “lung paralysis”. For the difficult disease of pulmonary fibrosis, Chinese medicine should be said to have discussed it from the “Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine” to the “Essentials of the Golden Horoscope”. ”Pulmonary paralysis is a disease with the meaning of paralysis and obstruction, and its name was first found in the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine. The name of the disease is first found in Huangdi Neijing? “Impotence” means atrophy, which means weakness and wasting. Lung impotence was first described in Zhang Zhongjing’s “Jin Kui Yao” in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. Western medical treatment of pulmonary fibrosis is currently in a dilemma, while Chinese medicine has very rich theoretical and practical experience. Therefore, the treatment effect of pulmonary fibrosis can be improved by giving full play to the advantages of Chinese medicine from different perspectives, such as theory and practice as well as experiments. In recent years, a combination of Chinese and Western medicine has been used to prevent and treat this disease, i.e., with the method of TCM identification and typing, starting from a holistic concept, regulating and body immune system, alleviating the adverse effects of hormones alone, promoting sputum discharge, improving the ventilation and air exchange function of lung, improving the blood circulation of lung tissue, assisting the absorption of inflammation and delaying the progress of lung tissue fibrosis. Traditional Chinese medicine has played a role in controlling symptoms, improving physical fitness, adjusting the state of mind and improving quality of life. Interstitial lung fibrosis is closely related to four major pathogenic factors: deficiency, phlegm, stasis, and toxicity. Therefore, some external treatments, including acupuncture point patching, winter and summer treatment, acupuncture point cupping, foot bath, etc., can be used to treat pulmonary fibrosis, which well reflects the characteristics of “internal and external treatment” of TCM. Under the guidance of Chinese medicine’s theory of “nourishing yang in spring and summer” to treat diseases in the future, the three volt days in summer, when yang energy is at its peak, are used to apply pungent and warming drugs to specific localized acupuncture points to invigorate yang energy, improve the ability to resist diseases and reduce chronic “cough and asthma” attacks in winter. It is an external treatment for patients with pulmonary fibrosis. It is also suitable for the treatment of patients with pulmonary fibrosis.
