Minimally Invasive Comprehensive Tumor Treatment

Tumor is the first natural enemy of human beings, and its morbidity and mortality rate are getting higher and higher, which seriously threatens human health. For thousands of years, human beings have been struggling with tumors. The traditional treatment methods for tumors include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, biological therapy and traditional Chinese medicine, but unfortunately, many patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage and lose the opportunity of surgery and other treatments. After entering the 21st century, new treatment methods have been introduced, especially the interventional minimally invasive tumor treatment technology, which is known for local tumor cell inactivation, has gradually attracted the attention of the medical profession. New targeted ablative therapies such as laser, cryotherapy, thermotherapy and other physical ablative methods have been widely carried out, which have changed the concept of traditional surgical treatment. With the development of high technology, various advanced technologies are penetrating into medicine, and many new disciplines are formed in medicine, such as cryosurgery, laser surgery, radiosurgery, stereotactic surgery, biotherapy, and lumpectomy surgery. Many surgeries can be done only under the guidance of endoscopy, lumpectomy and imaging technology. It is less invasive, less complications and economical. Effective and other advantages, especially for patients with advanced stage or traditional treatment methods have failed, it is not a bad supplement. Chemotherapy also breaks through the traditional sense of systemic intravenous chemotherapy, such as vascular interventional chemotherapy, slow-release chemotherapy, ultrasonic electroconduction chemotherapy, etc., which also play an increasingly important role in the treatment of tumors nowadays. Of course, these new technologies still need to be improved, and they should be accepted critically, and patients should not be treated as experimental subjects. We hope that clinical doctors will do more work in evidence-based medicine, actively explore new and effective treatment methods, and form new techniques of minimally invasive tumor treatment with Chinese characteristics. These methods break the boundaries between physicians and surgeons, and also change the professional fields of clinical departments and auxiliary departments, requiring a wide range of knowledge from physicians of all disciplines. Minimally invasive treatments such as cryotherapy, thermotherapy, and chemotherapy in local target areas have the advantages of being less invasive, less complications, and more cost-effective, especially for patients with advanced disease or those who have failed traditional treatments, and are not a bad supplement. At the same time, it can also be applied in combination with traditional treatment methods to achieve better treatment results. Wu Mengchao, a famous hepatobiliary surgery expert, actively advocates minimally invasive treatment of liver cancer. Under his leadership, radiofrequency, microwave, intra-tumor alcohol injection, argon helium knife and vascular intervention for liver cancer have been carried out and have achieved remarkable achievements in the world. Minimally invasive treatment for small hepatocellular carcinoma can be as effective as lobectomy, and minimally invasive treatment for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma can also be used to reduce the tumor load. Patients with liver cancer combined with cirrhosis undergo lobectomy, and some of them die of liver failure after successful surgery, while the surgical mortality rate of local resection is significantly reduced, while the survival time is significantly prolonged. The medical and nursing staffs of our Binzhou Central Hospital (Node Prevention Hospital) Oncology Center aim at the frontier of today’s medical development and actively explore new and effective treatment methods. Under the strong support of hospital leaders, we have constantly carried out new work, mastered various advanced tumor minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment techniques, formed our own unique new mode of tumor diagnosis and treatment, and achieved unprecedented good effect after clinical application. Our work of minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of tumor is roughly divided into the following six aspects: 1. Image guided puncture surgery Under the guidance of ultrasound, analog positioning machine, CT, MRI, etc., percutaneous puncture can be performed and tissue specimens can be obtained, which basically eliminates the uncertainty of exploratory surgery, can accurately determine the nature of lesions and can better formulate the treatment plan. For example, lung puncture, liver puncture, kidney puncture, thyroid puncture, etc. 2.Lumpectomy includes thoracoscopy, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, cystoscopy, endocephaloscopy, arthroscopy and so on. The use of laparoscopic technology to remove tumors is not news. Laparoscopic resection of colon cancer, gastrectomy, ovarian and uterine tumors is applied. The surgical trauma is significantly reduced compared with traditional methods. Endoscopic surgery includes respiratory endoscopy, gastroscopy, enteroscopy, etc. The original fiberscope has been developed to the current electronic mirror, and the image is clearer and more stable. Endoscopy can complete the operation of intracavitary tumor resection, installation of intracavitary stent, intracavitary injection of chemotherapy drugs, and placement of intracavitary radiotherapy, which reduces patient pain, treatment cost, recovery time, and improves the quality of patient’s survival. 4.Image-guided surgery Such as B ultrasound, analog positioning machine, CT, MRI, etc. guided by percutaneous puncture, surgery or treatment without incision, liver anhydrous alcohol injection, I125 particle implantation, cisplatin microcapsule (Zhongren Shunan) drug particle implantation, which reduces patient pain and improves the accuracy and efficacy of targeted therapy. 5.Minimally invasive targeted therapy Vascular intervention, radiofrequency therapy, microwave therapy, high-intensity focused ultrasound therapy, photodynamic therapy, cryotherapy, radioactive particle implantation, targeted drug therapy, etc. Unlike the direct removal of tumor by surgeons, there are many kinds of such techniques with different principles, but the result is inactivation of tumor in situ, and they are mostly performed by doctors in internal medicine, radiology, ultrasound and other departments. These techniques can be used in conjunction with surgical resection or under lumpectomy, endoscopy or imaging guidance, which reduces the patient’s pain and improves the quality of survival. 6.Endostent therapy The research and application of endostent technology is becoming more and more widespread, opening up new ways for the treatment of organism lumen stenosis or occlusion, and achieving obvious efficacy, sometimes better than surgery and balloon angioplasty. The applications are mainly endovascular stents (such as superior vena cava and inferior vena cava) and non-vascular endoprostheses (such as respiratory tract, digestive tract, urinary tract, pancreaticobiliary tract, etc.). Overall, minimally invasive tumor treatment has the following advantages: (1) small trauma, requiring only a small incision on the body surface or no incision, and fast recovery; (2) can be done under endoscopy or lumpectomy, with precise local efficacy; (3) can play a radical role in early stage tumors, and can achieve palliative treatment such as tumor reduction in late stage; (4) accurate positioning, good selectivity, and can maximize the protection of normal tissue and organ functions. Because of these advantages, minimally invasive treatment has become an indispensable and important part of comprehensive tumor treatment. Minimally invasive treatment is a local treatment means, which has absolute advantages over chemotherapy and biological treatment in controlling and eliminating local lesions. All medical and nursing staffs of the Cancer Center are dedicated to provide the community with knowledge consultation related to tumor health prevention and wholeheartedly provide quality and efficient diagnosis and treatment services for patients.
