There is still hope that patients with cerebral thrombosis who are unconscious can wake up. Patients with cerebral thrombosis who are unconscious are mainly in two situations: first, cerebral thrombosis leads to large cerebral infarction, cerebral hemisphere swelling, severe cerebral edema, and increased intracranial pressure, which generally exceeds 200 mmH₂O and may reach more than 300 mmH₂O in severe cases. In this case, the patient may be unconscious, but as long as active dehydration, cranial pressure lowering treatment and craniotomy decompression treatment is done if necessary, the patient is able to wake up. Secondly, the patient may have brain stem infarction and cerebral thrombosis causing blockage of blood vessels in the brain stem. If it is not a large brain stem infarction, the patient may wake up after conservative medical treatment. If it is a large brainstem infarction, the patient is in danger of dying and it is very difficult to wake up.
