Zhuangzi, whose real name was Zhuang Zhou, was a distinguished philosopher during the Warring States period of China. He died at the age of 84, and can be said to be an ancient old man of longevity. He lived a life of poverty, sometimes even making a living by weaving straw shoes. His philosophical work “Zhuangzi” is an important document of ancient philosophy in China. Zhuangzi advocated “inaction” and letting nature take its course, while emphasizing that everything is relative. Zhuangzi advocated that everything should follow the nature. His attitude towards life can be summed up in eight words: less selfish, quiet, less desire, and optimistic. He lived a hard life, “clothed in large cloth and mended it”, and sometimes borrowed rice to make ends meet. He was indifferent to all this. When his wife died, Keiko went to offer her condolences. Instead of crying, he sat next to the corpse and sang, banging on a tile pot. When Huizi accused him of singing instead of crying, he replied frankly, “At first I was very sad, but when I thought about it, how do people come into this world and how do they leave this world? It turns out that human beings come from the change of qi, the non-living matter in nature. Now that the human form has died and will become non-living matter again, I am singing with a drum to send off and celebrate the return of my wife to nature.” These words may not be entirely true, but Zhuangzi’s transcendent and open-minded attitude towards life is worth advocating. In real life, if we encounter unpleasant things, we can learn from Zhuangzi’s open-mindedness and open-mindedness to deal with them. Less selfishness Zhuangzi believes that selfishness is the root of all diseases. Only when a person has no selfishness at the bottom of his heart can he be ambitious and not care about his personal fame and fortune, and only then will he be contented, open and optimistic; this is also the truth of Mr. Tao Chuang’s saying “no selfishness at the bottom of one’s heart and the world is wide”. Zhuangzi said: “easy and calm, then worry can not enter, evil can not attack, so its virtue is complete and God is not lost.” He believes that it is difficult for people to be free from the confines of the world, and that the “selfishness” of people towards material desires is the source of all evils and the root of all diseases. Once a person is mastered by “selfishness”, he will lose his normal human state of mind and become insatiable, which will certainly harm his body and harm his life. If a person can maintain an easy and calm state of mind, “rule by doing nothing”, without selfish desires, then the evil can not invade, so that the form of labor and essence loss will not lead to accumulation of disease. He believed that only with an open heart, calm and relaxed, with a normal attitude towards life, content and happy can we live longer. Tranquility According to Zhuangzi, “forgetting oneself and having no desires” is the basis for maintaining a calm mind, and is also a prerequisite for physical and mental health. Only to achieve calm and relaxed, no desire, good spiritual care, in order to maintain a healthy body without disease. Modern medical research believes that if a person is constantly on edge, it will cause endocrine disorders, resulting in a decline in immunity, which will inevitably lead to a variety of diseases. Zhuangzi paid special attention to the cultivation of the mind, and believed that a person’s state of mind would affect his or her mental outlook and physical condition. To achieve a peaceful and transcendent state of mind, it is very important for a person to maintain mental balance. In Zhuangzi’s chapter “The Yellow Emperor Seeks the Way”, the story is about the Yellow Emperor who heard that Guangchengzi was practicing on Kongtong Mountain and understood the universe and went to seek advice. Guangchengzi tells Huangdi his insights around mental cultivation, which is also the guiding thought of Zhuangzi. According to him, mental cultivation focuses on two words: stillness and clarity. Stillness and movement, clear and turbid are opposed. Move will be tired, tired of the essence of the overflow; turbidity will be mixed, mixed with the mood is not peaceful. In order not to make the essence of the leakage of God, we need to make the inner quiet, not agitated inside, external objects will not interfere. Chinese medicine believes that God is the master of human life, God is restless, it will affect the normal life activities of the human body, God and like quiet, only quiet to nourish God, a person who is busy all day, it is difficult to reach the state of quiet, health will be threatened. At this time, it should be through the artificial way, like Zhuangzi said the quiet nourishing God, in order to achieve the purpose of God’s quiet. The five desires of Zhuangzi in “Zhuangzi – Heaven and Earth” pointed into the “loss of sex” consequences: “First, five colors confuse the eyes, so that the eyes do not know; second, five sounds confuse the ears, so that the ears do not deaf; third, five smells smother the nose, bothering the forehead; fourth, five flavors cloud the mouth, so that the mouth is harsh and cool; fifth, the interesting house slippery heart, so that the sex fly. These five are born of the harm.” He believes that people’s vision, hearing, smell, taste and thought, there are desires of the requirements, these desires should go with nature, to meet their requirements. At the same time should grasp the scale, never indulge. Because everything is relative, a poor grasp of the scale is easy to slide to the other extreme. If you indulge your desires, you will “lose sex” behavior, which will lead to misfortune or disease. Therefore, only abstinence from cravings can help to strengthen the body. Zhuangzi’s idea of abstaining from desire to strengthen the body is one of the important ideas of ancient Chinese health care practitioners, and still has important significance for our health care today. Zhuangzi also stressed that “people should not be full of desire, and not indulge”, indulgence is bound to invite disaster and disease. Less sexual desire will not damage the essence and hurt the spirit, and less food desire will not strain the body, and less gain desire will not accumulate worry and sadness. Optimism Zhuangzi believes that life in the world to be optimistic and open-minded, he had an analogy, the crane in the water, ten steps a peck, a hundred steps a drink, free and self-contained, emotional optimism, because of the preservation of life; and caged birds, depressed, depressed, feathered and emaciated, head down, because it is difficult to full life. Zhuangzi’s eight words on human ecology highly summarize his thought of health. China’s Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism and many other doctrines, all mentioned that the primary idea of regulating the gods and regulating health is to meditate, and the key to meditation is to nourish the heart. The heart is quiet, the gods are clear, the heart is fixed, the gods are condensed, the heart is clear, it will make the body full of blood and body health. China’s earliest Chinese medical text “Huangdi Neijing” from a medical point of view put forward the role of a light heart for human health, disease prevention. People should avoid the invasion of the four seasons of the natural world, the spirit should maintain a state of indifference, frankness, little desire, so that the body’s true qi normal operation, the spirit of the two qi can be fixed in the body. Maintain a quiet, tranquil and empty heart, excluding selfish thoughts, and focus on work and study or their favorite things, in order to “keep the spirit within”, physical and mental well-being. Zhuangzi’s optimistic thinking is a major element of longevity. Medical research shows that a person’s personality has a close relationship with the health of the body and the diseases born. People with positive and optimistic character are less likely to suffer from mental illness, chronic diseases or major diseases, and even if they are sick, they can recover faster due to spiritual factors, but bad character has a great impact on human health and makes people easily suffer from brain, internal organs and mental diseases. Zhuangzi’s advocacy of oligarchy is in line with the Chinese medical concept of health care. His eight characters of human ecology are still deeply useful to us today.
