Is breast calcification an early stage of cancer?

Breast calcification may be an early stage of cancer, but tests are needed to make a definitive diagnosis. Breast calcification refers to calcified foci in the breast, or small lumps with hard texture, which may be scattered calcified spots or clusters of calcification, as a manifestation of atypical hyperplasia of the breast, found during ultrasound and mammography examinations. However, relying on these tests cannot make a definite diagnosis of early breast cancer, and a comprehensive judgment is needed based on the size of the calcified foci, the presence of axillary lymph node metastasis and pathological examination. If the diagnosis of breast cancer is confirmed, radical surgery can be performed, together with radiation therapy, chemotherapy and other comprehensive anti-tumor modalities, which can achieve better treatment results and a 5-year survival rate of more than 80%. Patients with breast calcification should not be overly worried and anxious, but should maintain a regular and healthy lifestyle, have regular checkups, and have early treatment once abnormalities appear.
